Attorney and Law Student Volunteers

Stay Housed L.A. is a coalition of legal service providers, and community based organizations, to provide free legal assistance to Los Angeles County low-income tenants in eviction defense. Stay Housed L.A. offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to law students and attorneys to help tenants navigate the eviction process. Please contact our legal service providers to learn more.

Clinics

Clinics

During a limited pre-scheduled timeframe, volunteers provide legal information and assistance in preparing forms to help tenants navigate the eviction process.

50 Hour Volunteer Plan

50-Hour Volunteer Plan

Volunteers who seek to complete a specified number of volunteer hours on a recurring basis can do so with a legal service provider.

Externships

Externships

Volunteers can learn about eviction defense law in more depth by volunteering on a regular weekly basis with a legal service provider.

Full scope representation

Full-scope representation

Take on a full-scope eviction case by representing a tenant in court under the supervision and mentorship of a legal service provider.
